“Feeding the hungry is not just an act of kindness—it’s a powerful statement of humanity.”
In a country where millions still go to bed hungry, the mission to eliminate hunger is more urgent than ever. Satguru Charitable Trust (SCT) has been at the forefront of this battle through its sacred practice of Annadhanam, a tradition that holds deep cultural and spiritual significance in India. Established in 1998, our Annadhanam program has been a lifeline for countless individuals in Tiruvannamalai, Tamil Nadu.
The Importance of Annadhanam:
Annadhanam, or the distribution of free meals, transcends the simple act of feeding. It’s about restoring dignity and hope to those who have been marginalized by society. Every day, we serve wholesome meals to over 100+ individuals including the poor, elderly, and homeless in Tiruvannamalai. Our service is open to all, regardless of caste, creed, gender, or religion, ensuring that everyone has access to a basic human right—nutritious food.
Annadhanam During Crisis:
In times of disaster, our commitment to feeding the hungry becomes even more critical. During the COVID-19 pandemic, we ramped up our efforts, distributing meals to 2,000+ sadhus and over 1,000 needy individuals daily. Our work didn’t stop there—we also provided essentials such as tea, towels, soaps, and masks to ensure that the most vulnerable were taken care of.
How You Can Help:
Ending hunger requires collective action. By supporting our Annadhanam campaign, you can help us extend our reach and provide meals to even more people in need. Your contributions ensure that no one in our community has to experience the harsh reality of hunger.
“Hunger is not an issue of charity; it is an issue of justice.”
At Satguru Charitable Trust, we believe that food is not just nourishment for the body—it’s a basic human right. Join us in our mission to end hunger and bring dignity to those who need it the most. Together, we can fight hunger one meal at a time.
