On the sacred full moon day of Chitra Purnima, falling on 12th May, Satguru Charitable Trust is organising a grand Annadanam Seva in Tiruvannamalai, Tamil Nadu. This holy occasion holds deep spiritual meaning, offering a chance to cleanse one’s karma through charity. As lakhs of pilgrims and sadhus gather for Giri Pradakshina around the Arunachala mountain, our mission is to ensure no one goes hungry during their divine journey.
Chitra Purnima, also known as Chaitra Pournami, is one of the most spiritually charged full moon days in the Tamil month of Chithirai. It is believed that on this day, one can transform negative karma into positive outcomes through good deeds. Donating food, helping the needy, and engaging in seva on this day brings lifelong blessings and inner peace.
According to ancient scriptures, Lord Chitragupta records every soul’s good and bad deeds and reports to Lord Yama. On this day, it is said that Chitragupta reviews these records. Offering food and engaging in acts of kindness during Chitra Purnima can balance karmic debts and invite forgiveness for past actions.
Every year, lakhs of devotees perform Giri Pradakshina — a sacred circumambulation of the Arunachala Hill. Our Annadanam Seva will ensure that these pilgrims, ascetics, and seekers receive nourishing meals during their spiritual walk. Feeding the hungry is believed to be equal to worshipping the Divine, especially on such a spiritually potent day.
Participating in Annadanam on Chitra Purnima not only purifies personal karma but also blesses your family — both present and future. It is said that such acts of charity bring protection, prosperity, and peace to one’s lineage. Be a part of this large-scale Punyakarya and offer your devotion through service.
Established in 2018, we work tirelessly to eliminate hunger, improve health, and rescue animals in distress.
