Honor Your Ancestors by Feeding the Needy During the Sacred Amavasya

Amavasya is a sacred time dedicated to honoring our ancestors, a day believed to hold powerful spiritual energy for appeasing the departed souls. According to the Puranas, performing Annadanam (the offering of food) during Amavasya helps elevate the souls of our ancestors to Punya Lokas, granting them peace and spiritual merit. In return, these satisfied souls bestow their blessings on us and our families, bringing peace, prosperity, and success.

Alleviating Pitru Dosha Through Annadanam

Annadanam during Amavasya is a powerful act that helps alleviate Pitru Dosha, which refers to unresolved karma or issues linked to one’s ancestors. Pitru Dosha can manifest in various ways, causing obstacles in health, career, relationships, finances, or even difficulties related to children and family harmony. These doshas occur when ancestors have unfulfilled desires, unresolved matters, or are not at peace.
